Pretty Twinkies!

Essentially these "lavender" (ahem....okay, fine...so it turned pink now that I'm looking at it...) cream-filled cupcakes with citrus cream cheese frosting are grown-up versions of those cream-filled spongecakes that I seemed to enjoy as a kid. And who wouldn't? I mean, even Woody Harrelson's character in Zombieland had Twinkies in mind while running away from zombies as the last few humans on earth.

And what's the occasion? Friend E's birthday! We live maybe 6mi away from each other and yet I think this may be the first time I've dropped any goodies off since I've started this project. And of all people, Friend E is one I should bake goodies for: a great friend, one of the kindest and funniest people I've met, and definitely makes living in our neck of the woods much more fun. :)
