Manchesters other river

When people think of a river in Manchester, without realising it they picture the River Irwell. That has the touristy photogenic views and the Lowry hotel.

I always have a soft spot for the other one, the River Medlock. Its just a small unassuming river that used to carry a lot of coal for the train stations & slips through & under the city centre largely un-noticed before it joins the Irwell.

... like a grungy Venice :)
