Cherries on my cherry tree

I am so excited about the amount of cherries on our tree this year. This is only a branch and there's plenty on it, there must be hundreds on the whole tree....it has tripled in size since last year. Will we manage to actually eat ripened ones before the birds get them all? Desmond (the cat) better do his stuff and save the cherries!
