Have you got wool in your ears?

I found myself today using this expression on a pupil of mine. I am 30 in June and suddenly realised my mother used to ask me that when I was a kid. The lovely Year 9 in question gave the usual response of "eh, what!". Lack of hearing due to the the i-pod no doubt. Children are great and I don't mind the odd slip into grumpy old man-ness. The trick is to play hard as well.

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing"

Hence the trip to Spain mountain biking/drinking in a couple of weeks with the boys. Can't Wait.
