Methow River - Channel Migration

Went to the Methow River today, near the Town of Winthrop to assess a reach of river that is actively migrating and creating some bank erosion issues. During the reconnaissance, we walked by this relic gravel bar that the channel had deposited sometime in recent history. The river channel is now eroding into that gravel bar and depositing the sediment a short distance downstream which is then creating another erosion site.

So the cycle continues...the river giveth and the river taketh away...
