Poppies on the roadside

Had a really nice day today met up with a friend in the Engine Room in Dorchester for lunch at 12am and it was 4.30pm before we new it!!! so great catchup.
Risked my life with the mad rush hour traffic to stop on my way back to take some of the poppies on the side of the road, but they had already closed as it is a miserable day again, but I thought I would take them anyway as further up the road on my way this morning to my horror their were two men strimming all the poppies along the verges on the new road to Weymouth! It's the sort of thing they do in NZ with our Lupins. Sad.
