The Road to Maine

It's a long way up to Northeast Harbor, on Mount Desert Island on the coast of Maine.

We have rented a condo here with some friends to attend a wedding on Saturday. The wedding is on Great Cranberry Island, which requires a ferry boat ride.

Ryan is the wedding videographer and I am doing portraits of the bride and groom, so we have all our photography equipment with us. Today we go out to the island to scout the sites and meet the bridal party.

The bride was "diaper mates" with Ryan when he was 2 and she was 1. Her mom and dad are our dear old friends. Since then they moved to the St. Louis area and we haven't seen them often.

It's fun to reunite with old friends! And in such a beautiful place...
