I am in Turkey for business and pleasure at the mo. Currently staying at a Turkish friend's house in Istanbul - she is getting married on Monday.

Went looking for a blip of something Turkish in her house and tried her very full fridge with, amonst many other things, about 8 different types of cheese and 2 large boxes of yoghurt but in the end you have some lovely Turkish cherries and some eriks...I love the name of this fruit. Really they are sour plums and very sour they are too - a delicacy here often eaten with salt of all things!
