How many men does it take to .........?

Out for a shortish walk with Behr this afternoon. It was raining heavily - Behr was going quick ie 1 mph which takes account of his zigzags from tree to tree, bush to bush, blade of grass to blade of grass (he doesn't mind the rain too much). Anyhow, we took about 20 mins to walk round the local park which is being upgraded with new playground kit.

These 4 folks were there when we approached that part of the park and over 20 mins later they were still there - hadn't moved an inch in the pouring rain.

I reckon they were Playground Engineering Experts or PEEs for short. They were pushing the new roundabout left then right then left again. I wonder if it was part of an acceptance test for the new roundabout. There must have been a problem though as none of them got on to try it and there was a lot of mobile phoning going on. Perhaps one of them was a independent certifier of such equipment which would (I suppose) make him the Big PEE. As with a lot of project planning these days the roundabout must have been constructed according to a plan. Its a whole redesign for the park so it must be an integrated plan - I guess they'd call that a Parkland Integrated System Schedule - or PISS for short.

So - we have a bunch of PEEs studying a PISS in the pouring rain. Why didn't I think of this as a career? Notwithstanding the rain, it looks like an easy number to me - especially if it takes a committee of this size over 20 mins to discuss something with no obvious conclusion.

So.......how many people does it take to say a roundabout is ok to use. Clearly it is more than 5. 4 to study the situation on the ground and one at the other end of the mobile phone.

Oh, and since its still designated a construction site, its curious that 2 don't have hard hats on.

Have a nice weekend blippers.
