Gold Turtle Cake

My friend and I found this "gold turtle" in a bakery.

I asked her why it's called a "gold turtle" in Thai. She asked me why it's called a "ladybug" in English. I wanted to say that at least one of the English words was accurate, but I guess occasionally the bugs are gold instead of red. Neither of us really had an answer for the other.
