Searching the Archives

My friend and colleague, Kevin, has been fighting an on-and-off battle with melanoma for several years. The latest experimental drug he was being treated with has not been effective, and he is now in a hospice near Seattle.

Kevin's daughter has created a Website for friends and family to share pictures and memories, so I spent the morning digging through boxes of slides and photos and found a few to share. My favorite was this one of Kevin enjoying a beer on the summit of Mt. Si (elev. 3900 ft) at sunset. Three of us hiked up after work and had to use flashlights on the descent. Conditions were perfect and it was a truly memorable experience.

I'll visit Kevin next week.
