21st Century Chatelaine

Yesterday we got the keys for a flat we're renting for a few months, while we undertake a renovation to our house. As a self-catering holiday provider I carry keys for our Edinburgh cottage around with me too. So, at the moment the key chain in my handbag is carrying this load.

I discovered the meaning of the word chatelaine when I went to see the John Murray archives exhibition at the National Library in Edinburgh. There on display the housekeeper's memorabilia included an ornate silver belt. If you want to know more, there's an app.
