I got to look after a baby for a whole day today. It was heaven. She smiled at me all day and it seemed like the easiest job in the world. May be a revisionist view of history of course and symptomatic of being over 40. My own experience of sleep deprivation, vomit, social ostracisation and howling is so far back now I can hardly remember it.
