The Caterpillar Cup

Health and Safety have chipped away at our wonderful Village Gala over the years. First to go was the Fell Race, much to our dismay, then the greasy pole bit the dust. We noticed today that the guy driving the miniature train had a sign saying that he was no longer allowed to lift children on and off the train except in an emergency and I have a wonderful blip of three small children dressed as a pirate, Catwoman and a dalek having great fun on the back of a float which I've ummed and aaahed about uploading and then decided against. Madness!

However, our Caterpillar Cup reigns supreme! No safety harnesses, risk assessments or disclaimers with this one, just good, clean fun and kids enjoying themselves.

ps the race went to the boys this year, breaking a 25 year record (well, according to Gerry the Master of Ceremonies)!
