The daily pinta
Passing a derelict building in Haverfordwest today I was amused by this outdated request for a 'pinta' . (For those not familiar with the term it was coined by the long-gone British Milk Marketing Board as an advertising slogan in the late 50s).
Some barely-literate customer (or perhaps a thirsty cat?) seems to have scrawled the sign apparently with a burnt stick or an eyebrow pencil on a piece of card and propped it in the dusty window like a cry for help: MILK TO DAY 1 PINT PLESE
Doorstep milk deliveries are a thing of the past in most places now but they bring back memories of the creamy 'top of the milk' layer we saved to pour on puddings, and the mess made by small birds pecking through the foil to get there first if the milkman failed to cover the bottle with the jar left out for that purpose. On very cold winter mornings the milk might freeze and a cylinder of creamy ice would be extruded from the bottle's neck.

Monochrome seemed appropriate.
