Sunset over Central Otago
It took a bit to get here.
Flights resumed after the ash cloud moved to the east of NZ and by the end of yesterday were still running late but less so than in the morning. We were called to board our flight, scanned boarding passes and headed out onto the tarmac to board the plane (small regional flight). But the plane was broken and we couldn't board.
Not a good look AirNZ to call passengers to board and then have them mill around on the tarmac while staff sort out the break down in communication. On the upside the plane was broken on the ground, not in the sky.
Back inside the terminal while they frantically try to find another plane or cancel it. Thankfully there was another plane and I arrived in Dunedin late Friday night shattered but glad to be there.
Today has been wonderfully normal. A trip to the Otago market, time with the god kids and their parents. Late this afternoon we went for a walk on local rural roads. We heard a plaintive meow and discovered 5 small abandoned kittens.
Who can do this? Why not take them to the SPCA or even leave them on the doorstep of a vet? They were quivering and very hungy and thirsty. Tonight they are warm, have full tummies and thier little motors (purrs) are working again :-)
It's a bit sky looking through to central Otago. Always changing, always beautiful.
