A new day dawns....

Lucky lucky lucky!

Sadly, I missed my first blip yesterday. But it was worth it!
Yesterday at 5pm my husband, kids and I set off to Gümüslük. It's about 45 minutes away from us, so feels like a bit of a trek and for that reason we don't go there very often. However last night I had another violin job to do. A big hotel was having it's opening party and they wanted some light classical background music. The setting of the hotel was magnificent and we played to the backdrop of crashing waves and a sunset. As a performer we were given food and drinks, but the best part was that the hotel also provided us with a room for the night. I was concerned that there would only be one bed for the 4 of us, but I needn't have worried! We were given a 3 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms and a huge balcony overlooking the sea. In the morning breakfast was served on the balcony! It was luxury. And they paid me!!!!
In between the performing and sleeping we went into Gümüslük village where the vibe at this time of year is fantastic. We meandered around the craft stalls then sat under a huge tree on sofas eating meze and drinking vodka with pleasant company.

Today we have had a full day including a village festival with home cooked Turkish traditional foods and a trip into Bodrum with Necmi's mum to buy shoes for the hubby and kids. Later my parents will come over for a father's day meal by the sea in our village.
