Father's Day
Took a trip with my son and grandson on the Corris Light Railway - locomotive No.7. It was great fun and the whole place (run by volunteers) had a really friendly feel about it. The railway was originally built to take slate from Corris and Aberllefeni to Machynlleth for further transport by sea. Til the introduction of steam locomotives the trucks ran downhill by gravity and were pulled back up by horses. (The width of the tracks apparently matches the width of a Welsh Cobs backside). After many years of disuse it has been restored by the preservation society.
