Blackwater River

Made it out of work in daylight tonight - thank's to Kiwilizzie's suggestion. We took a drive up the Tutaki Valley and stopped at Blackwater River.

I've not caught the falls as 'frothy' as I'd have liked to but even by playing with f'stops and iso and timing, I couldn't cut out enough light, and I'd forgotten my tripod. Anyway, in the long run I'm happy enough with this shot. There is usually a lot more white water than this, but the river is running so high it's sliding over the rocks it usually foams over.
