Trying to get motivated
I received this ribbon for completing the Hill Country Ride for AIDS. I had intended to ride 100 miles, but because of back spasms, I was only able to ride 70 miles.
I have it hanging from the corner of a white board in my office directly in front of me so I look at it often. I had hoped to continue the cycling momentum from this ride through summer. Leading up to this event, I was routinely riding 75 to 80 miles each Saturday. But now that summer has hit, I have trouble just getting my bike out of our storage unit to ride to the grocery store. It has been hot - 100 degrees or more - for the past ten days or so. Tomorrow is supposed to be the hottest day so far this year, 108 degrees. Storms are supposed to come tomorrow night and "cool" thing off. Maybe I will start riding again. I vow to. But of course, last week I vowed to ride to the lake on Saturday with my friends and instead spent the morning in bed.
