The Life Of Ponty Cyclops

Back on the 16th April we built a wildlife garden in the old disused pond by the kitchen window.

It's a been a mixed success. It did attract wildlife. Alas it was only slugs and snails that ate all the wild-flower seedlings from the seeds we scattered in there. A few made it, largely the rape seed! I can't put slug pellets down as we have blackbirds and hedgehogs in the garden. So we decided to fill the gaps with some plants from the local garden centre.

Today we had our first visitor! This Small Tortoiseshell butterfly was warming itself on the rocks before flying up on to this Gazania for a feed of nectar. Quite chuffed that various bees and beetles have started visiting already. We also bought some Leucanthemum and a Scabious - Pink Mist. Hopefully as summer rolls in from tomorrow we might be able to get some blips from the wild flower garden.

A few rejected blips for you.
