Grey Heron

We have at least two Herons living on our stretch of river but I have never been able to get close enough to them to get a good photograph. They are so alert and see me ages before I see them. Even when I'm in the hide, if they land nearby they will almost immediately notice something isn't quite right and take straight off again. This one was sleeping but as soon as I pointed my camera at him he woke up and stretched his neck to get a better view. Then he flew off.
