Calletar Brig, Angus

A wet day up Glen Lethnot, which perhaps doesn't show off this stone as well as a sunny day might have. Even so, I thought this was wonderful - it reminded me very much of a work by the artist Ian Hamilton Finlay (see www.littlesparta.co.uk) but then I read it and it would appear that this stone has been here for well over two centuries? At first I thought it was more recent than that because it says "REPAIRED BY THE PUB" and surely if it was from centuries ago it would have said "REPAIRED BY THE INN"? But then I read further and it actually says "REPAIRED BY THE PUB-LICK" and the latest date on it is 1759.
