Trout fishing fail

I've been trying to catch my first trout for a while - so as there is a trout fishery a mile up the road here, I thought it might be straightforward.

However those with even the most cursory knowledge of fish will note this is not a trout...

Unusually the trout share their lake with quite a number of carp and while carp are not usually regarded as fish that take flies, these ones seemed to be rather obliging. This one was about 4-5lb, a real test of #4 weight fly gear designed to land ickle trout, he even had a few airborne moments.

Unfortunately, carp aren't so good for the dinner table (unless you're Polish and it's Xmas) so no dinner for me.
