There's a Fire Burnin'

It was another very hot and dry day here in Southeastern NC ... a day when temps reached 101 degrees and we haven't seen any measurable rain in weeks. It is so hot that nothing is moving and nothing seemed interesting so I took my camera down to the IC waterway to see what I could find. What looks like clouds in the photo is actually smoke from a brush fire in the neighboring county. The smoke was dramatic at sunset as it was lit up in pink hues ... ugh but no camera.

Heat, ma'am! it was so dreadful here, that I found there was nothing left for it but to take off my flesh and sit in my bones.
