Los Raqueros

The raqueros were kids who lived in poor parts of the city of Santander, in the last years of the XIX century and in the begining of the XX century, who used to be near the docks in the bay. People used to throw coins into the water and the raqueros dived into the water to pick them up from the water.

These statues are dedicated to them.
