Summer solstice

Well a mixed day weatherwise - grey, drizzly with sudden heavy outbursts! The girls (our wwoofers) have been hard at it though and picked a wonderful crop of redcurrants. We had the first taster yesterday with a divine crumble and today pounds were picked, along with a few blackcurrants and gooseberries. They then proceeded to weed the soft fruit area - a messy task, as it's on a bog! During the odd torrential moment they made six jars of redcurrant jam and two loaves!

I had to work this afternoon, luckily missing the chaos of the new infants.

We might take a damp trudge up to our little stone circle and do something solsticeish, but a spot of sun would be good.
