The sun rose at 04:26 this morning. It won't set until 22:03. That gives us 17 hours, 36 minutes and 31 seconds of glorious midsummer sunshine. Ha!
Above and beyond all those clouds that is.
What we have ended up with is was at least 17 hours, 36 minutes and 31 seconds of miserable midsummer moisture. It hasn't stopped all day.
I blame the conservatives. Summer's never used to be like this before they got into Downing Street.*
I didn't even dare take the camera out in all that, this was taken from the shelter of the entrance to work today. What struck me, apart from all the constant murk, mizzle and persistent precipitation was that our employer seems to have introduced a new dress code for the car park. It would seem there's a new policy that insists any vehicle must be red (and any tint or shade thereof) or grey (and any tint or shade thereof). Better get my finger out, mine's is neither.
*Actually, they did. Except 1976. 1976 was very nice indeed. We had a labour government then...
