Building Elements Number 27.....Demolition

I took this from the back attic window and, believe it or not, it's a 'good news' story.....The top three houses of the next-along street that back onto mine were a care home until about 5 years ago when it went out of business, since then it's lain empty....gradually getting more and more dilapidated. A couple of years ago new owners (I suspect builders who'd probably bought it as an 'investment opportunity') applied for planning permission to convert into 9 apartments, and despite a few local concerns about parking provision and practicalities like where on earth they were going to store 18 rubbish bins it was a bit of a relief that something was going to happen at last.....except it didn't, until a couple of weeks ago. The good news is that the plans have been changed and it's now going to be re-instated as 3 separate houses virtually identical in plan to when they were first built. Hoorah, proof positive that what goes around comes around.....eventually! BTW, this is the truly horrible wrap-around, single-storey extension that was thrown up about 25 years ago coming down.....it won't be missed.......

In other news.....I surprised a fox at the bottom of the garden yesterday teatime......but did I have the camera in my hand? Of course I didn't.....but it's a beauty!
