Hello, Operator. Operator?

"Out of Order" by David Mach, in Kingston-upon-Thames, made from iconic K6 'phone boxes.
The original K1 boxes were not thought acceptable by the London Metropolitan Boroughs, so designs for a K2 were invited. The design chosen was by Giles Gilbert Scott, who aged 21 had designed the Anglican cathedral in Liverpool.
K2s were introduced in London in 1926, but in 1935 Gilbert Scott's design was re-vamped & the new K6 boxes were installed nationwide.
By 1980 there were 78,000 'phone boxes in the U.K., but their numbers have dwindled as most people use mobiles. 2000 K2 & K6 boxes have listed status.
Many K6s are now privately owned, some used as shower cubicles, but in 2009 I understand one in Westbury-sub-Mendip became a book exchange after the local library closed. Anyone blipped it?
