Special Olympics Opening Ceremony Practice
While at dinner at a rooftop restaurant in Athens we noticed the lighting practice for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games was happening (after midnight).
After missing the eclipse the previous night I did not want to miss this opportunity. After too much food and wine I could not believe that I managed to get this shot, and yes I had a tripod with me at dinner because of our proximity to the Parthenon.
It is a shame that there is so much renewal happening on the old buildings with cranes and scaffolding all around. Nevertheless it was a spectacular night sky and the lights were still on at 2am when I was getting off to bed.
