Kettlewell in Wharfedale

We went to Kettlewell today to join a historical walk round the village, all part of the Grassington Festival week. A gentle amble round the village with our informative guide, Robin. He is a National Park Volunteer Guide, turned up in knee length shorts and shirt, looked as though he would soon be getting his telegram from the Queen and put us to shame by jumping over stiles and not getting out of breath going up hills. A lovely guy.

This shot was taken from a small bridge over the beck with runs through the village into the river Wharfe. Stone steps on each bank still remain marking the spot where folk crossed the beck. The white building in the background is the pub, must have been tricky getting home sometimes!
