Beach, Ice Cream and fizzy pop
I spent a couple of hours at my local beach again today but this time I indulged in a honeycomb crunch ice cream (with chocolate flake) and a can of diet coke (Oh, the irony). I could see rain clouds over Somerset on the opposite shore but they didn't reach us huddled in the pebble strewn car park. The beach itself, like most along this stretch of coast, isn't easy to access. Strong tides - the second highest tidal range in the world - throw up pebbles and redistributes sand making climbing over the pebble bank only for the sure footed and goats. This is illustrated by the current car park, which is actually behind the original parking area, which is now covered in rock falls from the cliffs and the pebbles thrown up with successive tides.
