Freaky Alien Dragon Flower

This lovely flower has been keeping me entertained whilst at the kitchen sink - it has these long frond type things, which, before the flower opened made it look like an alien/dragon. Wish I could remember what type of flower it is though.
Today I was very sleepy, so much so that whilst sitting in a chair, I noticed my book was on another chair across the room, too tired to go and get it (at least 5 steps) I just read the Pippi Longstocking book which was to hand instead! What a lazy old cow!
