OFFSHORE IN THE 21st CENTURY
Not all things offshore these days are all high tech mechanical and electronic wizardry.
As you can see some days we still have to resort to the old addage of brute force and ignorance.
These poor guys are removing approx 120 Tons of mud and other stuff from a pit that is 80ft down the leg of the rig.
Due to access problems there is no other way, other than hand loading the buckets, winching them to deck and dumping in the tanks, with approx 100 buckets to a tank and 1 tank holding 1.5 Tons you do the math. All i know is that one poor guy will have arms like Popeye by the time they are finished, which the supervisor thinks will be in 6 weeks.
I really cannot complain about their winch screaming away outside my office now can I????????
Time for a little Rory Gallagher:-........
Brute Force and Ignorance,
Just hit town,
Looking like survivors,
From the Lost and Found.
Brute Force and Ignorance,
Have come to play,
A one-night stand at eight o'clock,
Then they'll be on their way.
