La vida de Annie

By Annie

Sea urchin

kaybee, clickychick and annekingston guessed correctly what my blip was yesterday: a sea-urchin shell held up to the light and the camera pointed into the opening. Interesting what some of you thought constituted a found object in my house; the Time Vortex, the transporter on StarTrek, and a portal to another dimension being the most bizarre. Any one of those would be very welcome right now, but sadly this is just a regular house on planet Earth.

Another difficult day following a poor night's sleep; the novelty has well and truly worn off now and I'm thoroughly stir-crazy. Maybe a little meditation would help. Here's some Zen stuff:

In every human heart
There is one volume
Of the book of Truth,
But all is packed away
On the shelves, pages here
And pages there.
In every human heart
There is one score
For the music of Truth,
But all is buried
Under popular songs
And glamorous dances.
The person who would study
Should sweep away externals
And immediately seek
What has been there
From the beginning.
Only then will he be
Able to put this Truth to use.
