Not Quite Home
Delays, delays and more delays!! Our flight out of Rome was delayed but I later realised that ishould be grateful we actually had a flight as the earlier London one had been cancelled and likewise several other ones, not sure why but i'd guess it was something o do with the Rome baggage handlers strike. Then the bags took ages at Heathrow not that it mattered because D took an hour to come through customs as there was a massive queue and only one person checking pasports. Walking to the tube we discover that there is a 6 hour strike and the last Terminal 5 tube was about to leave but luckily we scramble on, only for it to terminate about 6 stops on, so we wait 20 mins for another one to leave Terminal 3 and we get to Charing X at 00.30 so luckily we have loads of time to catch our last train which is at 00.48 (yes you guessed it its late) and by the time we get a taxi we opened teh door around 2am!! After heating water for a shower and someting quick to eat (pizza - yep D wanted frozen pizza which of course wasn't up to the standards of the ones we'd been eating) I got to bed at 3am and had to get up for work at 7 so it was almost zzzzzzzz's in the office.
This is D on the train home forcing a smile, it was lucky I took a few pics on the train because they were the only pics I took :)
