Heel

This is a four inch heel. If you're thinking, "Should there be a shoe attached to that?" then you'd be right and up until 5pm this evening, there was.

Picture the scene. You are in a room at Leicester Racecourse to receive a Long Service Award. The room is filled with about 70 people also receiving awards, they've all bought a guest too. There are about a dozen managers including the majority of the senior team and the MD and a representative from Group. And a photographer.

You get up to receive your award, take about half a dozen paces & just as you are in front of the whole room, the heel snaps off your shoe. Embarrassed doesn't even cut it. As well as my 'official' shot with the MD & Group Exec there were a few more informal ones of my holding my heel & looking a delicate shade of raspberry.

I wouldn't have minded but they were my favourite shoes.
