Pressure!
I seem to do my best work under pressure.
This is the pressure gauge on a portion of the sprinkler system I installed. There was more than just water pressure building here. I am coming to the end of week 3 at my new job. 3 weeks was to be my trial period and to be evaluated for a possible raise too. It has been about 10 years since I have done this kind of work and today, this test, just happened to include the first piece of pipe I hung in 10 years (as seen here). IT WORKED! It held 200 psi for 3 hrs (supposed to be 2 hrs but I got busy).
This just is so important to not just me, but my whole family. We need to get out of where we are living (with the inlaws) and the just plain is not enough room here. Pressure is building there too, we need to find ways to save the max. amount of $$ every week in the shortest time to get out and still pay all the bills we need to be paying.
In many ways, it was more than just a sprinkler system I was testing today, it was my work and ability to do it well.
We (my self and my co-worker) tested 3 systems today, of those 3, 2 were 100% mine, the 3rd was partially mine and partially someone the work of someone else. The area that was NOT mine had some small leaks, 5 in total, but they were easily fixed. I had to kick someone off their lift to get up to the 20'+ ceiling where the leaks were, but they understood why.
So today I gave myself a great birthday gift. I proved to myself that i CAN still do this work, and do it VERY well after all these years.
Lets hope the vice president of the company (who is evaluating my work of the last 3 weeks) agrees.
