Does my bum look big in this?

As promised yesterday here I am in a river. More precisely I'm gauging the river, measuring the flow speed and depth across a transect of it.

Obviously this is a fairly small river to have a first go on but the principle is the same wherever.

Thankfully my waders were a lot more water proof than when I last did this kind of thing on a university field trip a few years ago!

Probably not the most attractive picture of me but as you can tell by the smile on my face I am enjoying myself and that's the main thing!
