Normally the only view I get of caravans/trailers is the rear end view. Usually in the far distance if I'm way back in the following queue on the A9. This year I seem to be seeing a huge number of motor-homes as well as caravans and it looks like lots are being hired by holiday-makers from companies on the continent (Europe). The trouble with the A9 is that it carries a lot of traffic normally and a lot of seasonal holiday traffic. Also some farm traffic so it can be very frustrating as it seems every time you get to a straight bit ther's something coming the other way. I went to John o'Groats, as far north almost as you can get on the mainland, a couple of weeks ago and there were dozens of caravans and motor-homes. I've only seen one like this once before and that was in the same place - Tesco's carpark in Inverness. Mind you you the way things are going it won't be long before Tesco are selling the blasted things. And I have a sneaking suspicion that if we had Tesco running the country instead of the Scottish Executive and Highland Council we might be better off. At least we'd get loyalty points when we paid our Council Tax.
