"Among the gravestones in Greyfriars Kirkyard, volunteers have planted over 200 medicinal and culinary herbs. Prior to the establishment of the kirkyard after the Scottish reformation, a Franciscan Friary and apothecary garden occupied the site. Trying to establish links with history, the group works together to maintain over 6 beds, including two traditional medicinal beds, 2 culinary beds, a dyers bed." Grassmarket Community Project.
