Pile Stabbing
Yesterday, the tri-pod jacket was positioned and immediately after that, the jacket small working platform on top was made-safe to work on. On the picture you'll see already a lot of equipment stored on top. Then the first lead sections of piles were lowered through the jacket corners. These piles are not long enough so another has to be connected on top of them. They are called add-ons. On the left you can see the first add-on connected to the lead section pile stopped off at the top of the jacket. As soon as the add-on welding is completed, the complete pile will be lifted, the stoppers will be cut off and the pile will be lowered to the seafloor until she'll reach self penetration. Then more add-ons will follow after which each section will be driven in the bottom until final penetration is reached.
