Sam had his maths higher today. He was nervous and came home announcing that he had found it impossible and would be re-sitting next year. There's nothing like self belief! I told him that it was the comedown - to forget it and concentrate on his other subjects. He was despondent all evening and I felt for him. Everyone seemed to find it tough, so we'll just have to wait for that slip of paper in the summer. He wants to study architecture or product design and knows that competition is fierce. I hope this focuses his mind and he really applies himself over the next couple of weeks. Then he can kick back and enjoy all the parties that are being planned.
Rowan had trampolining after school and came home exhausted. She slumped in front of the TV with a mug of coffee and barely spoke a word. Most unusual.
