backwater of a lake...

Went on a ride with buddies after a long time. An enjoyable 61km ride with frequent stops - some for tea, some for food, some for pictures and the rest for no reason at all. We could've finished the ride much earlier had we ridden faster and without breaks but these rides are never about the finish. Took some unknown bylanes and ended up to some corner of the lake. Come rains and this entire area is deep inside water. The washerman told us that only in summers the lake allows us to get so close. The tea at the roadside shack was so good that I had to go for a second helping. When we got ready to leave, a local asked us - "where're you going?"
"dont really know, we're just riding around"
"take this way. it will take you to the temple"
"ok...so this way goes to the main road?"
"yes"
"and this way?" [pointing to the other direction]
"that goes inside the village"
the choice was not difficult.
