Hare Today

Went for an early one this morning, before most of the world was up and about. It was quite misty first thing, but that burned off quite quickly. On the bird front, I saw snipe, curlew, lapwing, golden plover, skylark, meadow pipit and red grouse, but the highlight of the walk was 2 types of hare. I chose this brown hare because it's a better picture, but I also got my closest ever view of a mountain hare in summer pelage less than half a mile away. I wasn't sure at first, but when I compared the 2 photos, clearly they weren't the same, and one of my Flickr contacts who knows his hares thought that it was indeed a mountain hare. See it here
