Not every day

Staff of life

This was my picnic lunch on today's walk - stage 6 of the Ribble Way, from Settle to Horton in Ribblesdale. The egg was from home, hard-boiled this morning. The cheese is the remains of a Little Black Bomber. The tomatoes are from Preston market. The roll was made this morning while I was packing (barely an hour from mixing to baked, with no measuring - turned out really well). The pat of butter was filched from the cafeteria. The knife is my favourite little stubby Kitchen Devil. The setting was perfect, on the banks of the Ribble above Stainforth Force ('force' being northern English for a waterfall).

My trusty walking poles are not in the picture, only in the title.
