Beverley

We have been urban orienteering around the town of Beverley today, a place I haven't visited before. Tony and I were both taken with it, interesting buildings and a thriving centre with lots of individual shops instead of those faceless multi-nationals. People were out visiting the beautiful Minster and generally enjoying the sunshine wondering who these red-faced runner types were out in the midday sun....I actually came across a mad dog and mad Englishman as I headed to a control round the back of a block of flats and, for a moment wondered which one I had to be most afraid of. I think they were both more stunned at my appearance huffing and puffing beneath the washing lines! Much too hot for me to catch my big rival who finished a good four minutes ahead of me..ah well live to fight another day and all that.

Anyway by the time I reached the finish there were not many orienteers left to blip so I thought the Market Cross which we started beneath, and some interesting roofs, would suffice.
