wall behind bars

i found this scene so attractive. don't quite understand why. is it the romance of seeing what has been hidden for years? is it reflections that come when we see a structure so proudly made to stand above us crumble into ruins? and the fence, which means 'keep out or you may be hurt' here seems to imprison the wall for the crime of falling down. or is it just mainly the stew of graphic lines? wish i could say just what.
