Tall Ship

After much excitement of yesterday and such encouraging comments - thank you - today was rather more staid.

Armed Forces weekend in Edinburgh brought the HMS Portland into the harbour. But, it was closed to public today and pretty hard to get an interesting perspective through the fence. Besides, I'd already seen some blips on it yesterday.

But thankfully enough, the London registered tall ship, Stavros S Niarchos was tied up at Ocean Terminal too. So it features on today's blip. Pretty hard to find an unonbstructred view of the ship and given the dull grey skies, I decided to blip it in B&W, and take away some of the distractions.

Many of you will know that this ship is run by the Tall Ships Youth Trust and provides sail training to youth from all over the world. It is also one of the approved routes to earning the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
